As lifelong hockey players from Canada, we at RUSH Hockey distinctly remember the discomfort and pain of breaking in new skates. While technological advancements and optional baking have helped, a degree of discomfort has always remained, regardless of skate type or price.
This experience was a key motivator in developing our RAZOR R4 PRO skates. When our own children faced the same issue, we were determined to find a solution to eliminate the common pain and discomfort of breaking in new skates. We meticulously tested various materials on the ice until we discovered the perfect combination that makes every pair of R4 Pros the most comfortable ice hockey skates right out of the box.
Our mono-composite boot material can be baked, but it's genuinely not necessary thanks to MatriX Foam. This innovative material has unique "memory foam"-like properties that quickly adapt to the contours of a player's feet, even during the very first skate and without baking. My son has been wearing RUSH Razor R4 Pro skates now for a month and absolutely loves them. We got them after his morning game in Edmonton and he was so excited to try them we had to head right to pro hockey life and get them sharpened. I know most kids would want to practice a few times in a new pair before playing but he wore them right away for 2 more games and has not looked back once. He made the switch from another high end brands top line skate and immediately commented how comfortable these are. Now allot of it I initially thought was because of the cool designs and colors but a month in, easily 25+ skates and he still loves them. As a parent with two boys playing hockey and the day and age of 800$+ skates i would seriously recommend these to anyone looking for new wheels. Great price point, style kids will love, no need for superset as their insole is already as good and the best part.... reasonably priced blades!!!
QUALITY STUFF!
We received the skates - quality stuff. My son has been skating with them already (without baking) and he has not complained at all about foot pain and break-in which normally is the case with new skates. This is great news!
FIRST OVERALL THOUGHTS ARE AMAZING. SERIOUSLY GOOD JOB!
We received the skates on Friday and he played two games with them over the weekend. He couldn't wait to get them on the ice. Right out of the box he loved the design not only of the actual skate but of the packaging as well. He tried them on and the size 2 fit perfectly. He went wow these are comfy and we haven't even baked them yet. He played two games on D this weekend and loved the feel, he didn't complain about his feet hurting at all after. His current Bauer Supremes would hurt after the second game or on a long weekend. He has always gone through his edges with the style of player he is and he said he could feel the ice better and after looking at the edges they are still super clean. We are looking forward to not having to sharpen every other week. He is a big fan of the skate tongue. He likes the feel and the extra padding on the front plus he says it looks cool. These were so easy and comfortable to wear under the shin guard. The tendon guard is nicely padded (the Bauers and CCMs he has had haven't had that much padding). The insole is very impressive; he likes how his foot sits on the boot. We have some parents on his team that are in the medical and physical science line of work and they were impressed by the insole. He is a big fan of the stiff boots and felt comfortable with them standing in front of shots. First, overall thoughts are amazing. Seriously good job.

GREAT PRODUCT!
Ordered these skates for my son not knowing much about them other then a YouTube review, my son is on the ice 5-8 hours per week playing development/rep hockey and was previously in a pair of Vapor’s after trying them on he immediately loved them and wouldn’t even consider going back. I was shocked at the quality and when they release the senior skates will be ordering a set. The costumer service was great!
ONLY RUSH SKATES!
We are waiting for our 4.5 RAZOR R4s as my son has outgrown his size 4s. He tried his brothers Shadows today and the minute he was off the ice he said he will never wear them again and squeezed his foot into the RUSH size 4s.
